I wanted to grow up to be an insomniac. I had this romantic idea of the dark and tortured artist surviving on red wine and rice cakes, stylishly underweight with unkempt hair, painting all night in her loft-studio among piles of books and half-burned candles.   Well. Twenty something years later, I got the unkempt hair and piles of books parts down pretty well, although I am far from underweight and can’t remember the last time I had a glass of red wine.  Replace the loft with a house full of children’s toys and you get closer to the real picture.
